This tour takes about 3 to 4 hours approximately. The final destination for this tour will be Oak Ridge and Garifuna Village Punta Gorda.

There are various stops along the way to see beautiful island vista views, so be sure to have your camera with you. Some small souvenir shops are available as we travel throughout the island.
You’re welcome to spend the available time at the beach. After sightseeing you will return to your correctly cruise port on time.

Meeting Location
About 1 hour and a half (1:30) after ship docked.
Bring your cameras as we stop and look at the Ship Wreck in Dixon Cove. This little village is home to some of Roatan Island’s largest fishing boats. It is a busy community and a main area for banks and business.
Arch Iguana & Marine Reserve (The entrance fee is $10 per person.)
Out on French Key is the Arch Iguana & Marine Reserve from a local Islander who set up his own. According to them there are over 3,400 Iguanas of mainly 4 different species living on his property. You may feed and pet the Green Iguanas and the Black Iguanas as well as Monkey Lalas (Jesus Lizards) and Anoli Lizards (blue headed).
The Arch family has expanded the facility to include monkeys, marine fish and turtles, beautiful birds and a nice gift shop.
Don’t miss the mid-morning feeding of the Iguanas and be sure you have your camera ready!
We stop and take pictures of the spectacular views and First Bight.
(On our way to Oak Ridge there will be open jungle views with large towering nut palm trees, vista views of the Roatan reef and village scenes).
Now we arrive to Punta Gorda for incredible views and a chance to see the Garifuna culture. We can stop there for a fun whole fish Island lunch, learn the traditional Garifuna dance and watch them dance in their colorful clothes. The Garifunas were the first to inhabit the Bay Islands of which Roatan is a part of in the Bay of Honduras.
NOTE: The Garifuna Village were funded on April 12th, 1797 now they celebrating on April 12th their official village anniversary with a big carnival, normally the party the entire week with their traditional dance and clothes.
We will then head to the fishing village of “Oak Ridge” you might like to know about why Oak Ridge and Coxen Hole are the most historic Towns on this island, both villages have the mayor (government) office, since there is two different mayors for the entire island, some people knows Oak Ridge by the little Venice since there is several communities connected by small channels. There is an amazing view for a great picture of the whole village.
Have your cameras ready because we heading up to “Mayan Hill” you will see the most high point with a spectacular over view to the airport, Coxen Hole village, Cruise Port and south shore, ask your tour-guide to take you a family picture!
We will then drive through historic Coxen Hole and visit recommended gift shops. Tourist discounts are given through our tour and there will be lots of Honduran made gifts to choose from.
